More than 60 people attended the fourth-annual Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors' "Pool-side Burger Bash and Cornhole Competition" held June 13 at the Best Western Plus - University Inn.
The event featured picnic-style food, music by Maple and McGlone D.J. & Audio Services and a cornhole competition.
"I agreed to chair this event four years ago, to help showcase the new renovations at the Best Western Plus - University Inn," said Anita Jackson, event chair and charter member of the chamber Ambassadors' Club and its immediate past president. "It met with such success, that it was placed on the chamber calendar as an annual event. That is what we are all about, promoting businesses in the local area, and strengthening the economy in this way," she said.
