Post 33 defeats Post 3
GLEN DALE - Alex Young had an inside-the-park two-run homer as Steubenville Post 33 defeated host Moundsville Post 3, 11-1, Tuesday in six innings at John Marshall High School.
Steve Mihalyo added two singles, a double and three RBIs as Post 33 is now 8-1. Brenton Colabella doubled and singled for an RBI. Patt Pizzoferrato added a double and RBI.
Steubenville visits Weirton today and hosts Cadiz on Thursday.

Wayne drops Post 740
RICHMOND - Wayne County scored two times in the top of the first inning and never trailed in a 7-4 nine-inning win over host Richmond Tuesday.
Storm Mohn singled twice and had an RBI for Post 740 (2-5). Storm Allese added a double and RBI. Zach Williams doubled.
Richmond visits St. Clairsville tonight.

Travel team fares well
WASHINGTON - The Ohio Valley Venom finished in third place in the Line Drive Classic at Consol Stadium, home of the Washington Wildthings. The Venom beat the Cincinnati Riverboats, 6-4, then lost o the hosts in the semifinals.
The Venom is made up of players from Weirton, Follansbee, Steubenville, Wintersville, Toronto, East Liverpool and Empire. In addition to tournaments, the Venom competes in the Tri-State Baseball League with nine travel teams in Western Pennsylvania.
Oak Glen to host physicals
NEW MANCHESTER - Athletic physicals for the school year will be available for all Oak Glen High School and Oak Glen Middle School student-athletes at 1 p.m. Friday at the high school multi-purpose room. Cost is $15.
Physicals will be available from 10 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Saturday at Weirton Medical Center in the Atrium lobby free of charge. Bring a completed WVSSC Physical Form. Weirton Medical Center is also offering free EKG Screening to each student-athlete.
A parental permission form must be completed and forms are available on Weirton Medical Center's Facebook page or in the high school main office along with WVSSAC physical forms.
All student-athletes must have a physical before beginning practice for high school or middle school athletic teams.
