BAILEY, Virginia C., 94, formerly of Brilliant, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Monday May 13, 2013, at the home of her son, Jeff and daughter-in- law, Debbie in Elyria, Ohio.
She was born May 3, 1919, in Pipecreek, Ohio, a daughter of the late Charles and Grace (Clinger) Melching.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Bailey; two brothers, Floyd and Albert Melching; four sisters, Gladys Shafer, Wilma Young, Helen Melching and Burlene Moore; and a great- granddaughter, Hannah Bailey.
Virginia was retired from the former Kobacker Shoe Distribution of Brilliant and Columbus, Ohio. She was a former member of the Brilliant Christian Church and a member of the Brilliant American Legion Auxiliary.
Surviving are four sons, George (Donna) Bailey of Tarpon Springs, FL, James Bailey of Brilliant, Ohio, Kim (Ruth) Bailey of Wintersville, Ohio and Jeff (Debbie) Bailey of Elyria, Ohio; a daughter, Linda (Ed) Allen of Farmington Hills, Michigan; a sister, Mary Jane Pergi of Stuart, FL; 16 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received on Friday from 4-8 p.m. at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 712 Third St., Brilliant, where her services will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m., with Charles Shumway officiating.
Interment will follow in New Alexandria Cemetery.
