LOGAN, Edith Ruth, age 84, a homemaker and longtime resident of Toronto, Ohio, passed away Friday, May 10, 2013, at the Carriage Inn of Steubenville, Ohio.
She was born July 18, 1928, in Toronto, Ohio, the daughter of the late George H. and Gladys E. (Morris) Meyer.
Edith was a member of the St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church of Toronto and was a 1946 graduate of Toronto High School.
She loved to read, was a wonderful cook and had a beautiful singing voice. She had a kind, giving and gentle nature.
Edith was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James H. Logan, who passed away December 22, 1991, and whom she married May 28, 1947; brothers, George B., Charles B., and R. Frederick Meyer.
She is survived by her niece, Pamela (John) Fithen of Steubenville, Ohio who was her caregiver. She is also survived by several other nieces and nephews.
Following Edith's wishes, there will be a private burial at the Island Creek Cemetery with the Reverend Father Thomas Vennitti officiating.
Edith's family wishes to thank the staff at the Carriage Inn of Steubenville and the staff of the Valley Hospice for the special care they gave to Edith.
