HARMS, Lorna C. (Jones), 89, of Follansbee, WV, passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2013, at her residence.
Lorna was born on January 23, 1924. She was the daughter of the late Henry and Anna (Paulman) Jones.
Lorna was a retired registered nurse. She worked for many years at the former Ohio Valley Hospital in the Emergency Room Department and later at Riverview Nursing Home.
Lorna enjoyed sewing, her gardens and flowers, and her precious cats. She volunteered her time at R.E.A.C.H. in Follansbee, WV, and always helped her neighbors as the community nurse. Lorna was Presbyterian by denomination and Christian by faith.
In addition to her parents, Lorna was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel E. Harms, who were married for 56 years, an infant daughter, Sara Ann, and a brother Paul Jones.
Lorna is survived by two sons, William (LouAnn) Harms of Dillonville, OH, and Kevin (Sharon) Harms of Follansbee, WV; a daughter, Heidi Stewart of Morgantown, WV; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, May 14, 2013, from 11 a.m. until time of funeral service at noon at the James Funeral Home, 1245 Main Street, Follansbee, WV, (304) 527-1717 with Minister Tom Derby of Colliers Way Church of Christ, officiating.
Interment will follow in Fort Steuben Burial Estates, Wintersville, OH.
