STEUBENVILLE - EZCare says low patient volumes are forcing the company to close its walk-in medical offices in Weirton, Steubenville and East Liverpool.
The company says the Weirton office, located on Penco Road, and Steubenville office, located in Hollywood City Center, will close today, while the East Liverpool location will remain open until May 24.
"It's always hard to tell the reasons for low volumes, but (the bottom line) is that location volume doesn't allow you to stay open," said Krista Pettit, operations manager. "We really didn't have a choice at this point.
"No one ever wants to see this (kind of thing) happen. We certainly appreciate all those put their trust in us and came to us ."
Patients from the affected locations who need copies of their medical records can visit the EZCare website at www.ezcareclinics.com beginning today for instructions on how to obtain them.
In a release issued Thursday, Pettit said the company was "very sorry for those who will be affected by the closing" of the three health care centers.
"We wish to thank these communities for their support during the past several years. We appreciate all those who placed their trust in us and who came to us when they needed medical care. We are doing everything we can to make this a smooth transition for everyone who will be affected, including our employees and patients."
EZCare's locations in Moorefield, Parkersburg and New Martinsville will remain open.
