Dry Run Road to be closed for work
HAMMONDSVILLE - Dry Run Road (Saline Township Road 306) will be closed from 7 a.m. Monday through 3 p.m. Tuesday for a culvert replacement, township officials reported.
County engineer releases schedule
STEUBENVILLE - Jefferson County Engineer James Branagan released the work schedule for next week for the highway department.
Ditching will be performed on Mount Pleasant-Adena Road (county Road 6); county Road 7G (Pottery Addition connector); Ross Ridge-Alikanna Road (county Road 43); and Pleasant Hill Road (county Road 45).
Road closings will be announced.
Mingo hiring summer lifeguards
MINGO JUNCTION - The village is accepting additional applications for lifeguards at the swimming pool.
Applications are available at the Municipal Building from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Auxiliary to hold flower sale
WEIRTON - The Weirton Medical Center Auxiliary will hold a flower sale from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday in the hospital's atrium.
A variety of flowers, including hanging baskets, potted geraniums and flats, will be sold.
A gift certificate donated by Ianetti's Garden Center will be awarded as a door prize each day.
Veterans office closed for staff training
STEUBENVILLE - The Jefferson County Veterans Service office will be closed Tuesday through Friday so staff members can attend school to obtain continuing education credits.
All constituents who receive assistance through the Veterans Service Office will be notified of procedures to be followed during the closure.
Service Officer Schelley Brooks said education requirements are established by the Ohio Department of Veterans Services and coordinated with the Department of Veterans Affairs Regional Office.
She said the mandatory education is provided to keep all personnel informed of VA changes, updates in law changes and all facets or filing claims with the VA.
