RUCKMAN, Catherine Caroline "Kay" (Snyder) of Bergholz, Ohio, formerly of Mingo Junction, Ohio, passed away Sunday, April 28, 2013, at the Sienna Woods Nursing Home in Wintersville, Ohio.
She was born May 21, 1923, in Martins Ferry, Ohio, a daughter of the late George W. and Hattie (Weatherston) Snyder of Martins Ferry, Ohio.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl "Vurney" Ruckman on November 25, 1995; a brother, Tommy Lee Snyder on July 11, 1980 of Mingo Junction; a sister, Betty B. Meadows on October 11, 2006, of Uniontown, Ohio; and a great-great-grandson, Cooper Hayden Kinsey on November 26, 2012.
Kay was married June 29, 1940, in the First Baptist Church on Martins Ferry Ohio, by the late Rev. Ralph Drisko. She was a member of the Labelle Chapter 414 Order of Eastern Star of Steubenville; the Thea Court No.5 Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America, Inc. in Columbus, Ohio; a life member of the Disabled American Veterans; a member of Harmony United Methodist Church in Mingo and attended St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Steubenville.
Surviving is her only beloved daughter, Sandra Kay (Harry) Kinsey of Bergholz, Ohio; three grandsons, James Kinsey and his wife Dana of Richmond, Ohio, Bryan Kinsey and his wife Beverly of North Carolina and Mark Kinsey and his wife, Ginger of Mingo Junction, Ohio; ten great-grandchildren, Sloane, Riley and Allee of Richmond, Ohio, Zachary, Kylie, Coltin and Alecia of North Carolina and Kelli, Kaydee, and Cody of Mingo Junction; one great- great-granddaughter, Selena Thorn of Amsterdam; several nieces and nephews and her "baby" Chihuahua, Zoe.
Private services were held at the chapel at Holly Memorial Gardens in Pleasant Grove, Ohio, with Fr. Steven McKeown, officiating.
Memorial contributions may be directed in Kay's memory to St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 415 Adams St., Steubenville, Ohio 43952.
