Friends and Neighbors

The Friends and Neighbors 4-H Club saw John Boilegh give a presentation on Ohio's unusual plants and wildlife at the meeting held at the Colonial Baptist Church in the Ryan Center.

Flower beds at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds were prepped by members, and an Easter egg hunt was held. Cloverbots met to start working on a program with the theme "Super Seniors."

Maddie Charlier presided at the meeting, with Frank and Janine Yeske and some parents as guests.

Barshoe Wranglers

The Barshoe Wranglers 4-H Club met and heard Alexis Kosut and Kylee Haynes give a safety report on quick release knots; Azia Haynes demonstrated how she works together with her horse, Scooter, at jumping; Shanley Hale and Mary McGuire demonstrated dog commands with Bed, Shanley's dog; and Tami Milhorn had a horse part project as well.

C.J. Glenn presided at the meeting with 28 members present.

The group will meet at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds on May 11 to start building the horse mounting block and have a skill-a-thon practice at Emily Moore's at 6 p.m. on Friday.

The club is selling pepperoni rolls for a fundraiser.

The next meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on May 22 at the fair grounds.

Harrison County

Harrison County Ohio 4-H Week was observed with a decorating of business windows in the area.

Window contest winners were Silver Spurs 4-H Club, first; Tri-County Show Stoppers, second; and New Rumley 4-H Club, third.
