MINOR, John Warner, Jr., 61, of Burr Oak, passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2013, at his home surrounded by his family.
There will be a local Memorial Service on Saturday April 27, 2013, at 1 p.m. at the Highlandtown United Methodist Church.
John was born August 6, 1951, in Steubenville, OH to John and Peg (Morris) Minor.
He was a 1970 graduate from Stanton Local High School. John married Christine Ann Getzloff on February 6, 1971, in Burr Oak.
Mr. Minor was a resident of Burr Oak for the last 42 years and was a dedicated crew leader at Abbott Labs for many years. He volunteered on the Abbott emergency response team and was a Boy Scout Master for five years. John was an avid sportsman and member of Ducks Unlimited. He especially liked deer hunting, water fowl hunting and fishing. John enjoyed history and reenacting historical wars such as the French and Indian War, and the Revolutionary War. He was a great man, son, husband, father, and grandfather that was always willing to help. He loved spending time and taking small trips with his family.
John is survived by his loving wife, Christine, his daughter, Nicole (Charlie) Persinger of Burr Oak, his parents, John and Peg Minor of Irondale, OH; his brothers, Roger (Marjorie) Minor of Salineville, OH; Tom (Carol) Minor of Wellsville, OH; his grandchildren, Collin and Teagan Persinger.
John was preceded in death by his infant son, John Devon Minor in 1972 and his teenage daughter, Colleen Andrea Minor in 1989.
