Since 1951, the Adena Lions Club Minstrel Show has been a staple in the local entertainment industry attracting thousands of spectators over the last 62 years. This year, they head to "Las Vegas" for some singing, dancing and magic when the curtain goes up Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. both days at West Elementary in Adena.

"Viva Las Vegas" will star Drew Case, Dennis Kinsey, Rich Steffl, Roger Warren, Darrin Young, and Mike Zonkoski as the Endmen. Featured performers include Rich Bolock, JoAnn Connor, Julie Erwin, Jessica Harr, Joe Jancura, Dr. Dan Jones, Pam Kinsey, Chris Krahel, Marty Packer, Morgan Trouten, and Valarie Zamski.

The Buckeye Local Jazz Band will handle pre-show entertainment duties and will be featured along with the West Elementary Singers.

Dustin Kinsey will continue to serve as music director and keyboardist while Kipp Bowers, Brian Dawes and Dr. Dan Jones will complete the house band.

The chorus medleys will feature songs from Elvis, the Beatles and Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons among others.

There also is a full evening of comedy planned, including a ventriloquist act, some stand-up comedy, a show girl dance number and a magic act.

The show will be dedicated to Adena Lion Theo Kanoski.

Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children and can be purchased at the door.
