Council to mark anniversary with dinner, awards program

Immaculate Heart of Mary Knights of Columbus Council No. 472 will celebrate its 113th anniversary with a dinner and awards program on Sunday at the council hall on Two Ridges Road, Wintersville.

Doors open at 4:15 p.m. Refreshments in the lounge will be available until the dinner begins at 5 p.m. The dinner cost is $10 per person with children under age 10 eating for free.

Dinner Chairman Joe Lancia and his committee have finalized plans for the event that will include the participation of civic leaders, clergy and Knights of Columbus state representatives.

Bishop Jeffrey M. Monforton of the Catholic Diocese of Steubenville will be the main speaker.

A special recognition and presentation will be given to Trinity Health System.

The council also will be presenting awards to Knight of the Year, Family of the Year, Lady of the Year, Youth of the Year, Volunteer of the Year and Bluecoat of the Year. There also will be presentations for Religious of the Year and Chaplain of the Year.

Donald Hall, Grand Knight, will present awards, and D.L. Romel will serve as toastmaster.

All Knights of Columbus members, their families and friends are invited to attend as well as any friends of the award recipients. Reservations are not required but would be appreciated. They can be made by calling Rocco Auteri at (740) 264-1430 or Hall at (740) 264-6724.
