WINTERSVILLE - Friends of Indian Creek will host the annual March Madness event set for 6 p.m. Tuesday in the Indian Creek Middle School gymnasium.
A three-minute foul shot competition for elementary pupils is planned, and each team should have five pupils, organizers said. The winning team will receive half of all of the $5-per-person entry fees collected.
A knockout competition for middle school pupils is planned, with a $2 entry fee per participant. The winning pupil will receive half of the total amount received in entry fees, according to organizers.
Other activities that evening will include a knockout competition for middle school pupils, as well as Indian Creek Youth Basketball League action.
A highlight of the evening will be the Indian Creek High School seniors and faculty members taking on the Jefferson County All Stars in a basketball game.
There also will be a half court shot competition for high school students and adults. The cost is $1 for one shot or $3 for five shots. The winner will receive half of the amount collected in entry fees.
The cost for March Madness is $3 per person or $2 per students. A family pass costs $8.
There will be refreshments, and those on hand can tour the new Indian Creek Middle School, organizers said.
