WEIRTON - The Weirton Event Center kicks off its free Fridays concert season on May 24 with local favorite Legend.
Ten weekends of music will feature styles ranging from blues to contemporary pop to country and more, according to organizers.
The season will begin Memorial Day with the return of Legend, and cap off Aug. 9 with the tribute band, BeatleMagic. The night of Aug. 9 also will feature a '70s retro dress-up contest, encouraging fans to turn out in Beatle-era garb.
All Top of West Virginia Convention and Visitors Bureau concerts are held at the Weirton Event Center located on East Street downtown. Concerts and parking are free, and gates open at 6 p.m. and music begins at 7 p.m. each Friday

May 31 - Deja vu and Forty Plus.
June 7 - Three's Company and the Tri-State Community Band.
June 14 - Jill West and Blues Attack.
June 21 - Johnny Staats and the Delivery Boys; fireworks will follow the show for the West Virginia Sesquicentennial.
June 28 - Easy Street and Bone Daddy.
July 5 - Wheeling Symphony; fireworks will follow the show.
July 26 - US Kids and Spinning Jenny.
Aug. 2 - The Joseph Sisters.
Performers are subject to change.
Also beginning May 25, shoppers can take in the East Street Flea and Farmers' Market to be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays at the Weirton Event Center. The market also features a different special event each week, including a car show, gospel sing and pet show, organizers said.
