Water discoloration reported in city
WELLSBURG - City water customers may experience some discoloration and should refrain from doing laundry until the problem has been corrected.
City Manager Mark Henne said a water line to the former Banner Fiberboard property was opened by crews involved with construction there, disturbing material that had settled in the unused line.
He said the city's hydrants may be flushed to correct the problem, and it should be resolved today.
County Road 25 to close Thursday
STEUBENVILLE - A portion of county Road 25 (Smithfield Station-Weems Road) will be closed from 7 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday due to a culvert replacement.
The portion of the road is .05 miles north of Cross Creek Township Road 189 and 1.5 miles south of Wayne Township Road 191 (McIntyre Road).
There will be no through traffic.
School board sets special meeting
STEUBENVILLE - The Jefferson County Educational Service Center Governing Board will hold a special meeting at 10:30 a.m. Thursday for the adoption of a preliminary agreement for the creation of a conversion online community school.

Stop litter activity set at Fort Steuben Mall
STEUBENVILLE - The JB Green Team and the Fort Steuben Mall will host the annual "Pride ... Not Litter activity from noon until 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the mall's Center Court.
Special pot decorating and flower planting will be available for the first 100 students.
The event is free and open to the public.
Economic board moves meeting
WELLSBURG - The Brooke County Economic Development Authority has moved its next meeting from March 20 to 6:30 p.m. on March 27 at the Brooke County Library.
The meeting was moved to allow members to attend the Marcellus 2 Manufacturing Expo in Charleston that day.
Easter egg hunt set for March 24
WINTERSVILLE - Fort Steuben Burial Estates, 801 Canton Road, will be the site of the village's 24th-annual Easter egg hunt on March 24, beginning at 2 p.m.
The rain-or-shine event is open to area children ages 2-10.
Each child will receive a small gift bag with a door prize ticket attached. Several baskets will be available to aid in collecting eggs. Grand prizes in three age groups and other prizes will be awarded.
The Easter Bunny will be present for the hunt, which is held on the cemetery grounds near the new mausoleum.
Signs will be posted for each age group that will include ages 2-4, 5-6 and 7-10.
Enrollment open house st at Madonna
WEIRTON - Madonna High School will hold an open house for open enrollment from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday and March 21.
The event is open to parents and students.
