The Weirton Area Museum and Cultural Center has announced several upcoming events.
-- March 9, 10 a.m., "The Final Days of Weirton Steel" at the museum. Local author Tom Zielinsky will discuss his book, "The Final Days of Weirton Steel: Could the Collapse Have Been Prevented?"
-- April 13, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., fifth-annual Festival of Nations at the Weirton Event Center. Dr. Juginder K. Luthra chairs the annual event celebrating Weirton's diverse cultural heritage.
-- July 27, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., "Afternoon Tea With Rosie the Riveter" at the museum. Pam Makricosta chairs the event that celebrates the contributions women made to the war effort during World War II, especially in industrial communities such as Weirton, and preserves the stories of those women who were there.
