Wellsburg Lenten services detailed
The Wellsburg Ministerium has announced that Wellsburg area churches and their clergy will again participate in a series of Lenten services through Easter.
The services are open to people of all denominations. Many are led by a clergy member visiting from another Wellsburg church.
The schedule follows:
Thursday at 7 p.m., Wellsburg First Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Gene Sheppard.
Feb. 28 at 7 p.m., Christ Episcopal Church, the Rev. Angel Adams.
March 7 at 7 p.m., New Day Christian Center, the Rev. Jerome Anderson.
March 14 at 7 p.m., Henderson Chapel AME, the Rev. Bryce Grieco.
March 21 at 7 p.m., Windsor Heights Church of God, the Rev. Carl Tribbet.
March 29 at noon at Wellsburg Christian Church, Good Friday service with the theme "Seven Last Sayings of Christ" and featuring Adams, Joy Leasure, Anderson, the Rev. Dan Pisano, Grieco, the Rev. Aaron Miller and the Rev. Carl Terry participating.
March 31 at 7 a.m. at Brooke Hills Park Clubhouse, Easter sunrise service with the Rev. Carl Tribbet.
Weir Class of '58 planning reunion
The Weir High School Class of 1958 Reunion Committee will meet at 1 p.m. Feb. 28 at Undo's.
All classmates are welcome to attend.

Wells seniors to meet Friday
Wells Township Senior Citizens will be holding its monthly meeting at 1 p.m. Friday at the Wells Township Community Center located on Steuben Street in Brilliant.
The lunch will be salad and Capri sausage sandwiches. Participants can bring a dessert to share if they so desire.
The meetings are held on the last Friday of the month with a $5 annual membership fee. The monthly event includes lunch, door prizes and a 50-50 drawing
Occasionally there will be a speaker.

KidneySmart classes detailed
The Mary H. Weir Public Library located at 3442 Main St., Weirton, will be the site of two free, community-based educational and informational sessions about kidneys.
The KidneySmart classes will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Feb. 28 and March 28.
Participants can learn how their kidneys function, recognize early signs of kidney disease, learn ways to better manage their diet and health and get an overview of treatment options should a chronic kidney disease be diagnosed.
The classes are taught by certified educators.
