KIMBALL, Richard Lee, 64, of Weirton, passed away Thursday, January 31, 2013, at his home
Born July 9, 1948, in Philippi, WV, he was the son of the late Jim Kimball and Lillian M. Perine Swiger. He was also preceded in death by his step-father Carson Swiger.
Rich was a 1966 graduate of Weir High School and later attended Marshall University. He served his country in the United States Marine Corp.
In 2003, Richard retired from Weirton Steel, where he worked as a crane man in the Strip Steel and B.O.P. After retiring, he was a driver for the local car dealers, including New City Auto Sales and Allietta Ford.
A private pilot, and outdoor enthusiast, Rich enjoyed flying out of the Herron Airport. His other hobbies consisted of tinkering around in his garage, playing on the computer, taking a hike in the woods or watching NASCAR.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 10, and the Hancock County Sportsman Club.
Rich is survived by his wife, Mary Lee Sisinni Kimball, whom he married October 16, 1971.
Visitation will be held Sunday, 1-5 p.m., at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main St., Weirton, WV, where funeral services will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday.
Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Follansbee, WV, with military honors being conducted by the American Legion Honor Guard.
