DINTINI, Raymond E., 87, of Weirton, passed away Saturday January 26, 2013, at the Serra Manor, with his loved ones at his side.
Born on June 8, 1925, in Steubenville, OH, Ray was a son of the late Leander "Tony" and Rosanna Bernabei Dintini. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Dolores DiGiaCinto Dintini on February 6, 2007; a son, Raymond "Butch" Dintini; a brother, Angelo Dintini; and a sister, Lydia DiGiaComo.
After a brief employment with Weirton Steel, Ray graduated from beauty school in New York City and became the first male beautician in the city of Weirton, Ray owned and operated Raymond's Beauty Salon in Weirton for over 50 years.
He fought in World War II with the United States Army, 133 Infantry 34 Division and was a recipient of the Purple Heart.
In his free time Ray enjoyed playing cards, and spending time with his family.
He was a member of Saint Paul Roman Catholic Church and most recently a member of Saint Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church. He was also a member of the ISDA, Sons of Italy, VFW 2716, American Legion Post 10; Purple Heart Club, World War II Last Man's Club; The Holy Name; a charter member of the Knights of Columbus 3734; and the Fourth Degree Assembly.
Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Monday at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home 3219 Main St., Weirton, WV.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday at Saint Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church Weirton, WV.
Rev. Fr. Manuel Gelido will preside.
Fourth Degree Assembly will stand Honor Guard.
Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Follansbee, with Military graveside services conducted by the American Legion Honor Guard.
Memorial contributions may be made to Saint Paul's Roman Catholic Church, Saint Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church or the Weirton Salvation Army.
