TORONTO - A basketball signed by former NBA basketball legend Michael Jordan will be given away in a Feb. 23 fundraiser for the city high school girls basketball team to purchase new uniforms.
Mindy Jones said she obtained the ball when she and her daughter, Josey, attended Jordan's basketball camp in August.
"Last August myself and my daughter Josey, who also is a freshman at Toronto High School, both went to Santa Barbara, Calif., to Michael Jordan's Flight School basketball camp," said Jones. "My brother-in-law Glenn Wilkes is the director. We went to the camp, and we were able to get the ball autographed. We were there for 11 days. (Jordan) is there for four out of the five days (for the week-long camp). He gives away free shoes and other stuff to (to those attending). It's really something."
