Redskins, Bears, Royals earn victories

NEW MANCHESTER - The Oak Glen girls basketball team earned its third consecutive win, 67-42, against visiting Brooke Thursday.

The Golden jumped out to a 15-8 lead after one quarter of play and took a 16-point lead into the break. A 20-3 fourth quarter in favor of Oak Glen made the game a rout.

Golden Bears Vanesa Hissam finished with 24 points and 13 rebounds. Freshman Logan Andrews netted 15 points and adding nine boards.

Karly Wiley finished with eight points and five assists, while Jessica Stivason added six points and 10 rebounds.

For Brooke, Michaela Hinerman led all scorers with 28 points.

Redskins defeat Bellaire

BELLAIRE - The Indian Creek girls basketball team erased any doubt to Thursday's outcome at Bellaire with a 20-4 third quarter advantage and went on to beat the Big Reds, 68-44.

Bre Berryman led the way for the Redskins with a game-high 27 points. Kiarra Kamarec added 16 and Bethany Davis 10.

Keirstyn Kidder paced Bellaire with 26.

Wildcats fall to Jets

MORRISTOWN - The Edison girls basketball team lost 62-35 to Union Local Thursday. Molly McCoy paced the Wildcats with 10 points. Katelyn Pollock added seven points with Abby Fonow scoring six. Edison hosts East Liverpool Saturday.

Devils nip Huskies

CADIZ - The St. Clairsville girls basketball team defeated host Harrison Central 70-65 Thursday in double overtime.

The Huskies outscored the Red Devils 27-17 in the second half to send the game into an extra session. Each team scored seven points in the first overtime.

St. Clairsville outscored Harrison Central 13-8 in the second session.

Katie Ellzy led the way with 27 points for the Huskies. Kara Dunfee added 14 and Jessica Custer chipped in with 13.

Royals lose close one

WEIRTON - The Jefferson County Christian boys basketball team dropped a 44-37 decision to visiting Wilson Christian Academy Thursday at the Millsop Community Center.

Wes Seabright paced the way for the Royals with 20 points. Matthew Townsend added 12.

The club was 10-of-26 from the free throw line.

JCCS downs Wilson Christian

WEIRTON - The Jefferson County Christian girls basketball team defeated visiting Wilson Christian Academy, 50-13, Thursday.

Senior Lani Moro led the way with 18 points. Margie Kissinger delivered a career-high 16 points. Mary-Bernadette Miravalle and Lindy Bowers each added five.
