reservations taken

FOLLANSBEE - The city will be accepting reservations for the Follansbee Community House and shelters at Follansbee Park this week.

The reservations will begin with the city's water customers only at 6 a.m. Wednesday at the Follansbee City Building, and the doors will open at about 4 a.m. for those who arrive early. They will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, with a sign-up sheet available, said City Manager John DeStefano.

Reservations from non-water customers will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday.

The Community House won't be available on the following dates: April 17, July 6 and 11-15, Aug. 8, Oct. 7-14 and Dec. 5.

The Lions and Follansbee Steel shelters at the park also won't be available on July 7 and 11-15 because they will be used for Follansbee Community Days and the Community Days Picnic.

Rental rates haven't changed since last year and are, as follows: Community House, $190.80 for water customers and $275.60 for non-water customers; large park shelters, $68.90 for water customers and $84.80 for non-water customers; and the smaller Mark Avenue shelter, $47.70 for water customers and $58.30 for non-water customers.
