Second Baptist Church, 717 Adams St., Steubenville: A Christmas pageant entitled "One Night with the King: Come Let Us Adore Him" will include the participation of as many as 30 children. Sycamore Tree Church, located at the corner of North and Fourth streets, Steubenville, will be celebrating its annual Christmas Eve service at 7 p.m. Monday.
Using a mix of some of the most familiar carols as well as several new Christmas songs, Sycamore's Praise Team will lead the congregation as they remember that this year "We Want a Rock in Our Stocking," the theme of Sycamore Tree's Advent lighting this year.
"Many of us have been threatened with a lump of coal for Christmas, but that's for those who misbehave," a church spokesperson said. "Jesus is the rock, and he'll be in every stocking that requests him this Christmas, no matter how bad you think you've been," the spokesperson added in explaining the theme.
