December 17, 2012
The Herald-Star

Andrea Vittek has a Fontanini nativity display where she began collecting the Italian creche figures in 1996 and now owns approximately 25 buildings and 200 figurines. It has enhanced the collection with landscaping and added scenery.

Some of the scenes depicted in the display include a choir of angels surrounding the stable where Jesus was born; the town of Bethlehem where merchants peddled their wares; the town entrance where musicians welcomed visitors and villagers fetched water from the town well; hills where the shepherds tended their sheep; a farm; a vineyard; an olive and fig grove; a desert; and the Sea of Galilee.

The collection is on display at the Tiltonsville United Methodist Church located at 106 Grandview Ave., Tiltonsville.

Visitors are welcome during office hours Tuesday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. or call the church office at (740) 859-2280 for information.
