MOROUDAS, Christine, 62, of Weirton, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, leaving behind a legacy as a true friend to those who knew her and a lasting imprint on the lives she touched as a teacher.
Known to her family and friends as Chris, she was born on Aug. 17, 1950.
She is survived by her brother, Tom (Stamati) and his longtime friend, Jane Carbasho, who were at her side in her final hours. She is also survived by her beloved cat, Gus; several cousins; and a long list of faithful friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Constantinos (Gus) and Mary.
Chris graduated from Weir High School in 1968 and West Liberty State College in 1972. She positively impacted the lives of children for 33 years, serving as a teacher at Cove Elementary School, New Manchester Elementary School and Broadview Elementary School. After retiring from her teaching career, her desire to socialize prompted her to obtain jobs at the Millsop Community Center in Weirton; Mountaineer Racetrack in Chester; and Fabian Formals in Steubenville.
Chris enjoyed jogging, walking, and collecting Boyds Bears. She also liked sports and was a proud fan of Weir High School, the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Pittsburgh Pirates. She had a special place in her heart for animals, especially cats.

Visitation will be held at the All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, 3528 West St., Weirton, on Tuesday, Dec. 11 at 10 a.m. with services at 11 a.m. Father Frank Milanese will preside. Interment will be held at the mausoleum at Chapel Hill Cemetery.
