'Presents for Patients' kicked off
STEUBENVILLE - Country Club Manor Nursing Home located on Lovers Lane in Steubenville is kicking off its annual gift-giving drive called Presents for Patients at 6:30 p.m. today.
There will be hot cider and cookies, and the Harding Select Choir will perform traditional holiday carols.

SHS Orchestra Alumni
STEUBENVILLE - The Steubenville City Schools Orchestra Alumni concert is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday at the SHS auditorium.
The orchestra will feature a piece by Robert Rollin, guest conductor/composer. Other music will include popular and jazz pieces.

Chamber to hold
FOLLANSBEE - The Follansbee Chamber of Commerce will hold its Christmas dinner at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 13 at St. Francis Centre.
Mary Ruth Morris, the director of the Anderson Children's Home, will be recognized as the 2012 citizen of the year. Several others, including the Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad, also will be recognized for their service to the community.
Brooke County Prosecutor David B. Cross will be the guest speaker.
The cost is $20 for nonmembers. Reservations should be made no later than Monday by calling (304) 527-3801.
Museum site of
concert on Dec. 13
WELLSBURG - The Brooke County Historical Museum and Cultural Center will be the site of a free concert, featuring the Brooke High School Madrigal Choir, on Dec. 13.
The concert will follow a Christmas program at 6:30 p.m. presented by Charlie's Kids, a group of local youth, and directed by Carol Allman.
The doors will open at 5:30 p.m. to allow visitors to tour the new museum, which is at the former G.C. Murphy building at 704 Charles St. There will be refreshments, free door prizes and a Chinese auction.

Water, sewer committee to meet
WINTERSVILLE - A village water and sewer committee meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Municipal Building prior to the regular council meeting.
Committee members are to discuss delinquent water and sewer bills.
Boil order issued for Canton Road
WINTERSVILLE - A 48-hour water boil order will be in effect for Canton Road, from Forest Street to Powells Lane, due to a water line break, once the line is repaired, village officials said.
