BRILLIANT - A sunny day greeted the Wells Township Christmas Parade participants as well as those watching along the parade route on Saturday.
The Brilliant American Legion Post 573, with Commander Roger Cline, Brian Voyers and Ray Sullivan comprising the color guard, led the parade.
The Buckeye Local High School marching band, with members in Santa hats, provided the music, while fire trucks from many villages, businesses, a Brilliant American Legion van and floats took part in the event.
PARTICIPANTS — The Blazing Saddles 4-H Club participated in the Wells Township Christmas Parade on Saturday. Faye Verhovec, with the mini-horse in the Santa uniform, is the adviser. Some of the 4-H members had their rabbits, their 4-H projects, with them, while others had their pets.
Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus were present in the Wells Township recreation department wagon that was decorated for the season. Little helpers riding in the wagon were Shayla and Dayne Zinn, Abby Hoagland and Auna Roe. Portraying the holiday couple were Lawrence Roe and Burlene Hoagland.
The Brilliant United Methodist Church depicted the reason for the season with their nativity scene float. Randall and Lou Ann Crave, the oldest members of the church, were dressed as Joseph and Mary. Some of the little angels accompanying the pair were Lainey and Maverick Benedict, Austin White, Mazie Dowell, Kaleigh White and Hunter Starr.
Karen's Angel Foundation and Heavenly Home Health had a candyland float, with Calvin Dowell and Savannah Brown as the candyland helpers.
North Elementary School pupils were part of a float, along with the Girl Scout troops 8004, 1011 and 462. "We Dream Big" was their theme. The House of Prayer had a float as well.
