Innocenza Bruno

BRUNO, Innocenza "Nancy", 85, of Weirton, passed away Friday, November 30, 2012 in the Weirton Medical Center. Born January 1, 1927 in Belmonte Calabria, Italy, she was a daughter of the late Matteo and Angela Pinnicchio Porco. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Giuseppe Bruno on December 22, 2003, whom she married in April of 1946; sons Anthony and Luis Bruno; and brothers Dominico, Nunziato, Anthony and Joe Porco.

For 25 years, Mrs. Bruno served as cook for Cro-Bell Services, Inc. She also worked for the bus cleaning service at Starvaggi Industries. She was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening and cooking for her family and friends.

Mrs. Bruno is survived by her son Frank Bruno; daughter Teresa McCombs and her husband Harold; a daughter-in-law, Jerri Bruno, all of Weirton, WV; brothers Francesco Porco and his wife Ida of Steubenville, OH and Ernest Porco and his wife Betty of Uhrichsville, OH; sisters Maria Porco and her husband Nino of Steubenville and Ann Hathaway and her husband Richard of Brunswick, Maine; the pride and joy of her life, grandson Lance Bruno; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Sunday 6-8 p.m. and Monday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church with the Reverend Father Manuel Gelido officiating. Entombment will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Weirton.
