PIETRANGELO, Julius W., 91, of Smithfield, OH, passed away November 15, 2012, in Steubenville, OH.
Julius was born June 9, 1921, in Rosedale, OH, son of the late Samuel and Maria Mascivecchio Pietrangelo.
Julius was a teacher in the former Smithfield and present Buckeye Local School System, retired after 36 years of service. He was a member of the Smithfield Christian Church, where he served as deacon and elder; he was a 30 year member of the Lions Club, OEA, JCRTA and NEA. Julius was also a veteran of World War II Serving as a Navy Aviation Radioman for three years.
Julius was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 51 years, Caroline (Boyd); his sister, Mary; and brothers, Albert and Ralph.
He is survived by two sons, Bruce (Vicki) of Charlotte, NC and Jonathan Sr. (Nancy) Pietrangelo of New Alexandria, OH; his daughter, Julia Dawn (Tim) Snyder of Thousand Oaks, CA; grandchildren Jonathan Jr. (Emily) Pietrangelo, Ashley Pietrangelo, Jeffrey Pietrangelo, Katie Snyder, Melissa Snyder; great- grandsons, Levi Pietrangelo and Ty Phillips; one brother, Tony Pietrangelo.
There will be private interment services at Northern Cemetery in Smithfield at a convenient time for family. An open Memorial Service will be planned for a time in the spring at the Smithfield Christian Church.
Julius' arrangements are in the care of the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Smithfield, OH.
