From staff reports , The Herald-Star

STEUBENVILLE - The generosity of an anonymous local business will allow some area residents to attend Wednesday's presentation of the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce Concert and Lecture Series at no charge while helping the area's needy families.

A local business has purchased 100 general admission tickets to be distributed to the public for the 7:30 p.m. presentation in the Steubenville High School auditorium that will feature former Secret Service Agent Clint Hill and Lisa McCubbin, who wrote the book "Mrs. Kennedy and Me."

Two general admission tickets will be available in return for a a nonperishable food item that will be donated to the Urban Mission Food Pantry. There is a limit of two tickets per person. The tickets will be available only at the Herald-Star, 401 Herald Square, and can be obtained until 5 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to noon on Wednesday on a first-come, first-served basis.

"We're very appreciative of the local business which is making the ticket distribution possible," said Alex Marshall, publisher of the Herald-Star. "It's a way for area residents to be able to attend this lecture while helping the less fortunate in our community."

Hill was the Secret Service agent assigned to protect Jacqueline Kennedy and was the first agent to reach the presidential limousine when President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas on Nov. 22, 1963.

The lecture is set for 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Steubenville High School auditorium. Doors to the auditorium will open at 6:30 p.m.

Reserved seats for the event cost $20, and general admission tickets cost $15 and are still available by contacting the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce at (740) 282-6226 or the Herald-Star at (740) 283-4711.

Tickets will be available for purchase at the auditorium the night of the lecture.
