The Upper Ohio Valley Opera Guild will hold its annual meeting Monday at St. Florian Hall in Wintersville to the "Night on the Town."
The social will begin at 5:30 p.m. followed by dinner at 6:15 p.m.
In addition to the entertainment by Follansbee resident Joel Smith, the guild board will give an update on the organization's progress and conduct its annual election.
The event, which is open to the public, is being chaired by Mary Jo Rinaldi, first vice president. Other members participating in the program include Joyce Ryan-Orlando, president; Anita Jackson, second vice president; Barbara Wilinski, board member and treasurer; Kathy Antinone, nominating committee and board member; and Josephine Irvine-Groves, board secretary.

Smith, a graduate of Brooke High School, has been singing professionally for approximately four years. A crooner in the style of Michael Buble and Harry Connick Jr., he has performed locally as a regular for Follansbee Community Days, the Italian American Cultural Club's Festa del Vino, and numerous other functions as well as area weddings. He participated in the Kean Idol Talent Search associated with St. Barnabas Health Systems in Pittsburgh. His first year he won second place. The second year he placed in the judges' top three and earned audience choice honors. The 27-year-old is studying nursing and works at Life Line Hospital in Wintersville.
