CADIZ - The Harrison County commissioners met with a short agenda Wednesday.
Scott Blackburn, director of the Harrison County Department of Job and Family Services, was on hand for the opening of bids for the renovation of two restrooms at the DJFS building.
Only one bid was received by the board, according to commissioner Barbara Pincola, who read the bid from Kinsey Construction Inc. of Harrisville.
A bid of $21,640 for labor and materials was submitted.
The two restrooms are to be combined into one handicapped-accessible restroom.
The bid names Smith Plumbing of Cadiz and D&E Electric, also of Harrisville, as subcontractors.
Commissioner Don Bethel recommended the bid be tabled until the next meeting to allow the board to review the specifications.
In other matters, county Auditor Patrick Moore spoke with confidence about the county's financial outlook for 2013.
"The county general fund is in the best shape it has been in since I have been in office," Moore said.
In other business:
Bethel congratulated board Chairman Bill Host on his successful re-election campaign and stated he was looking forward to working with the new commissioner-elect Dale Norris. Bethel also offered congratulations to all of his fellow county office holders who won their respective races.
The board approved an increase in appropriations for the Family and Children First Council family and children audit.
