STEUBENVILLE - Two Steubenville High School student-athletes will remain in the juvenile court system following a judge's ruling Thursday afternoon in Jefferson County Juvenile Court.

Visiting Judge Tom Lipps did allow Trent Mays, 16, of Bloomingdale and Malik Richmond, 16, of Steubenville, to be released from the juvenile detention center. The juveniles will be under monitored house arrest. Mays and Richmond were charged with rape following an incident on Aug. 11-12. Mays also faces a charge of illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material.

Lipps said a pretrial hearing will be held on Dec. 14, which will establish how a trial will be conducted.
