To the editor:
I haven't heard much about Shane Thompson, the Republican candidate for state Senate, but what I heard recently disturbs me.
Thompson went to Washington to lobby for stimulus dollars for his company. How can he give us rhetoric about big government when he goes to Washington, D.C., and asks for our tax dollars to help himself? That seems hypocritical. Not too many folks in Southeast Ohio have been lobbyists in Washington. Our small businesses certainly don't have lobbyists.
But they do have a strong voice in state Sen. Lou Gentile. We need to keep Gentile in the state Senate.
