Fall festival at

Follansbee church

Follansbee United Methodist Church, 1002 Viriginia Ave., Follansbee, is having its annual fall festival Saturday from from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

A church spokesperson said there will be "lots of holiday crafts and decorations including baby books, quilts, toddlers sleeping bags, aprons, clowns, jewelry and unusual purses including Steelers themed ones.

"We will have homemade cornbread and bean soup for free," the spokesperson added.

Gadabouts enjoy

DJ Billy Doyle

DJ Billy Doyle donned his Halloween costume and created many laughs for the Gadabouts members entering early for their October meeting at St. Florian Hall. He then provided music for dinner and dancing.

John Zak presided, announcing that there will be no November meeting as it would interfere with preparations for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Andy Celestin led with the benediction and invocation. Okie Nestor won the 50/50 which was conducted by Jennie Avoli. Bob Williams was a guest of Margaret Frederick.

Zak congratulated member Doris Matyas for being named one of the 2012 Community Stars by the Herald-Star and The Daily Times.

Carol and Frank Wisneiski distributed door prize tickets. The prizes furnished by Rich and Joyce Dobbs were won by Jasper Wamsley, John Zak, Edith Cooper, Joann Williams, Carol Wisnieski, Mary Alice Meyers and Eleanor Recinella.

Sands of Time

in Richmond

The Richmond Community Historical Society will host the Sands of Time in concert on Saturday at the Glenn Mills Community Senior Center, 7576 state Route 152, Richmond.

The dance and performance will be from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Admission is $5 per person or $10 per couple. There will be free popcorn with food, pop and water available for sale. There also will be a 50-50 drawing and historical society items on sale.

Costumes are encouraged. Proceeds benefit the Crew House Museum on Main Street.

Benefit Saturday

at Spot Bar

A benefit celebration for JoJo DeMayo will be held from 4 p.m. to midnight Saturday at the Spot Bar, located at 217 S. Fourth St., Steubenville.

The event will include a Chinese auction, 50-50 drawing, silent auction, "Bid-A-Date," live entertainment, DJ and dancing and hors d'eouvres.

Prizes will be awarded for the best costume.
