BOWERS, Harry Robert, age 72, of Toronto, OH, passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012.
He was born Jan. 17, 1940, in Toronto, OH, the son of the late Robert William and Mildred Pauline (Grimm) Bowers.
Harry was a member, Deacon, Elder and Sunday school teacher at the North River Avenue Christian Church of Toronto, and was a U.S. Air Force Vietnam War Era Veteran.
He is retired from the Ohio Edison (First Energy) Company, Toronto Power Plant.
Harry is survived by his wife of 51 years, Linda A. (Peach) Bowers, whom he married Aug. 7, 1961; son, Robert A. (Janine) Bowers of Adena, OH; daughter, Laura (James) Schoonover of Toronto, OH; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother, William Lee (Darlene) Bowers of East Liverpool, OH; sister, Mildred Louise (Millie) Orris of Bergholz, OH.
Friends and family will gather for visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 16 at the Clarke Funeral Home, 302 Main St., Toronto.
A celebration service of Harry's life will be held 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Robert Hanze officiating. There will be full military honors by the Toronto American Legion before services Tuesday evening.
