Weirton volleyball match raises funds

WEIRTON - The city high school girls volleyball match between rivals the Red Riders and Blue Dons Tuesday will have a special propose this year - raising funds and awareness of breast and other kind of cancers. The city championship between Weir High and Madonna high schools - scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. at the Weir High School gymnasium - will feature players wearing pink and fundraising with proceeds going toward cancer research and prevention programs, according to Carrie Magnone, Red Riders' girls volleyball coach.
