Night at the Races set for Oct. 20
The Warren Township Lions Club is organizing "A Night at the Races" to be held Oct. 20 at the Indian Club, located at 513 Rose Ave., Tiltonsville.
Patrons can purchase two spaghetti dinners and a horse for $20. The dinner includes spaghetti, salad, bread and dessert. Dinner will be $5 at the door.
To purchase a horse or for information, call Bob Fetty at (740) 391-1351. The proceeds will benefit the Warren Township Lions Club.
Involved in planning the fundraiser are club president Missy Runnion, Jerry Vinci, Doug Griffith, Margaret Warren and Bob Fetty, chairman.
The Three Score Seniors met Sept. 27 at Undo's at the Holiday Inn - Weirton with President Barbara Purks welcoming members and guests to the sports-themed meeting.
Pat Deletka gave the invocation.
Following dinner, Vice President Larry Purks introduced Dennis Jones of the Weirton Area Museum and Cultural Center. Jones showed a film of shells being made at the former Weirton Steel Co. during World War II. Singer Dave Watkins will entertain at the October meeting.

Membership Chair Josie Elliott introduced new members Cindy Toth and Jean Burdette. She announced 2013 dues will be collected at the October, November and December meetings.
Sunshine Chair Winnie Kemp reported on cards sent.
Reservation Chair Vivian Weigel announced 134 members and two guests, Mary Mentzer and Laura McCullough, were in attendance and gave the October menu.
Jim Hare awarded prizes to Rosemary Gaynor, Betty Morgan, Joann Gorell, Irene Troia and Minerva Gutwald. Edna Harrison, Maralyn Hinchee, Betty Morgan, Ken Kessell and Sonny Marino won fall mums. Jack Cummings awarded the 50/25/25 drawing to Eva Fabianich and Cookie Veltri.
Barbara Purks advised members 2013 dues will be $5 per person.

The next meeting will be held Oct. 25 and have a Halloween theme.

St. Paul's having
St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 415 Adams St., Steubenville, will host its monthly soup and sandwich luncheon Sunday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Featured soup and sandwiches will include wedding, vegetable and potato, with chicken salad and barbecued ham sandwiches. Desserts, coffee and tea also will be served.
The lunch is $6 for adults and $3 for children under 12. Carryouts are available by stopping in or calling (740) 282-5366.

AMVETS Post 275 will meet at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at the War Memorial Building in Steubenville. All area veterans are welcome to attend.
