MEEK, Jack W., 82, of Toronto, died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012, at Weirton Geriatric Center.
He was born Nov. 11, 1929, in Georges Run, OH, the son of the late Winfield and Myra Peeling Meek.
Jack was a graduate of Steubenville High School class of 1947, served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, was retired from the Ohio Bell Telephone Co. with 42 years of service, was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and the American legion Argonne Post 33.
Jack is also preceded in death by his sister, Bernice Lenhart and his step mother, Rose Meek.
Surviving are his wife, Maryanne Snyder Meek, two daughters, Michelle (Robert) Hughes of Huntsville, Al and Jacqueline Meek of Toronto; his grandchildren; Joshua, Megan and James Hughes; one nephew, Charles (Cindy) Lenhart of Nantucket, MA and a half sister, Mary Jane (Tom) Albaugh of Bloomingdale.
Calling hours are Saturday at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd. Steubenville, 11a.m. until the time of a Memorial service at Noon, Msgr. William Cornelius will officiate. Burial at Mt. Calvary Cemetery with U.S. Navy Military Honors.
