STEUBENVILLE - The Spot Bar will be the place to be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday as local musicians host a Columbus Day/Octoberfest celebration.
The free event will feature local musicians, including Rose Angelica, Rick Pastre and Al and Ben Provenzano, according to Angelica.
"We're going to be playing Italian, American and polka music," she said. "It's free admission. There's going to be food and, hopefully, dancing."
The Spot Bar, 217 S. Fourth St., in Steubenville will be the place for an evening of American, Italian and traditional polka music from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday. The free event will include performers, from left, Rick Pastre, Ben Provenzano, Al Provenzano and Rose Angelica, playing everything from classic polkas to Americana.
The musicians are top notch and have been playing authentic ethnic music for decades, according to Angelica.
"Rick Pastre is an old friend from Smithfield," she said. "He's an accordion player extraordinaire. He's one of the last of the accordion players in the valley.
"Al and Ben are family friends, and they were both born in Italy," continued Angelica. "Bennie is an Italian-style mandolin player, and he can play very well. They play authentic, Italian music. They know all the Italian classics."
Angelica said she likes to host shows with a variety of different music styles so there's something for everyone.
"I'll be playing trumpet, guitar and singing," she said, adding she'll be on the road until Sunday's show. "I'm heading to Nashville to play the Independent Music Festival (today) and Friday."
