Helen Sabol

SABOL, Helen D. (Durazio), 92, passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2012, at Life Line Hospital in Wintersville, OH.

Helen was born April 2, 1920, in Tiltonsville, OH, the middle child of the late Eugene and Lucia (Salerno) Durazio.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul John Sabol, whom she married on November 25, 1946, and their beloved son, Michael Paul Sabol; two brothers also preceded her in death, Erclino (Lucky) and Gildo Durazio both of Follansbee, WV.

Helen is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Paula and James Taylor; son, David John Sabol; grandchildren, Lara Spendiff and Jessica Taylor of Columbus, Samantha Taylor and Michael Sabol of Toronto; and great grandson, Colton Michael also of Toronto. In addition, she is survived by two sisters, Adelia (Del) Thomas of Arizona and Jeana (John) Cola of Nevada; a sister-in-law, Anna Sabol of Toronto; and a host of nieces, nephews and godchildren, including Patricia Ceglie of Follansbee and Erin and Jason Adler of Arizona.

She was formerly employed by Arkell and Smith of Wellsburg, WV, where she made many dear and lifelong friendships.

Helen was always a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who liked to crochet and bake wonderful treats for her family and friends. She was an avid bingo player for many years and, in recent years, enjoyed playing with her friends at the Laurels.

Friends and family will be received from 6-9 p.m. on Friday October 5 at the Clarke Funeral Home in Toronto. Visitation will also take place Saturday morning from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church North River Ave., Toronto and will be followed by a Funeral Liturgy with Mass with celebrant the Reverend Father Thomas Vennitti. Interment will then take place at the Island Creek Cemetery.

A vigil service will be held 6:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made in Helen's name to the St. Joseph R.C. Church or the donor's charity of choice.

The family wishes to thank the staff of the Laurels of Steubenville, and Life Line Hospital for thee many acts of kindness and caring they provided Helen and her family.
