TRUDICK, Peter, 88, of Toronto, OH, entered into Eternal Rest Sunday evening, September 30, 2012, at the Acuity Specialty Hospital in Steubenville.
He was born on July 13, 1924, in Hrabske, Slovakia, and immigrated to Toronto in 1938.
He was a World War II veteran, serving in the 2003 3rd Engineer Fire Fighting Aviation Platoon of the United States Army. He retired from the Weirton Steel Division of National Steel, where he had 40 years of service.
He was a former member of the Holy Transfiguration Orthodox Church in Steubenville, American Legion Post 86, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Sunrise Senior Citizens Club in Toronto.
His parents, John and Anna (Mihalik) Trudick; his brother, John Trudick, Jr.; and his sister, Maria Paluch, preceded Peter in death.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Anna (Papuschak) Trudick; his children, Theresa and David of Toronto; his sister, Anna Baker of Hopedale, OH; and his brother, George (Helen) Trudick of Pocatello, ID.
The family would like to thank the many people who prayed and cared for our father, especially Father Gregory Thompson, and the staff at Acuity Specialty Hospital.
Visitation will be at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto, from 2-4 and 6-8 on Thursday, with Panakhida services at 7 p.m. Visitation will also be held at the Holy Transfiguration Orthodox Church in Steubenville, from 9:30- 10 a.m. on Friday, followed by Funeral Services, Father Gregory Thompson officiating.
Burial Services will then be held at the Toronto Union Cemetery; military graveside honors will be provided by the Toronto American Legion Post 86. Condolences to the family go to: www.jefosterfh.com.
Peter was a good husband and father and will be greatly missed. May God number him with the sheep on his right hand, and may his memory be eternal.
