SHOCKLEY, Carol Ann, 63, of Toronto, Ohio. passed away Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012, at the Valley Hospice Care Center-North, Steubenville, Ohio
She was born Sept. 6, 1949, in Steubenville, Ohio the daughter of the late Troy Lee and Mary Belle Perrine McCartney. Carol is a member of the Open Door Baptist Church, Colliers, West Virginia; the Steubenville Lions Club and was retired after 39 years from the Community Action Council in Steubenville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Truman and Larry McCartney; sisters Irene, Wanda and Glenda.
She is survived by her husband David L. Shockley whom she married Sept. 15, 1967; daughters Susan Shockley Bender of Canton, Ohio and Laura Vestich and husband Eli of Portsmouth, Ohio; grandchildren Carolyn Shockley, Alec Shockley and Aaron Gotschall all of Portsmouth, Ohio; sisters Shirley Henry and husband Dave Castner of Bowling Green, Ohio and Jerri Maggar and husband John of Amsterdam, Ohio; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Friends and family will gather for visitation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1 at the Clarke Funeral Home, 302 Main St., Toronto where a celebration service of Carol's life will be held at 1 p.m. Pastor Larry Garrison will officiate and interment will follow at the Moorefield Cemetery Moorefield, Ohio.
