J-Fit Rake-A-Thon is in progress
Jefferson County 4-H members, through the J-Fit Rake-a-Thon, will be making a difference by recycling, cleaning up yards or helping neighbors from now until Nov. 16.
This is being held in conjunction with Make a Difference Day and involves raking bags of leaves and taking them to one of the drop off points scheduled in the county: Spring Valley Farm, 1197 county Road 1, Rayland, call (740) 359-3737; Corky Saiter Farm, 620 township Road 117, Rayland, (740) 733-8013; or Carl Glenn, 5502 county Road 54, Irondale, (740) 543-3136.
The Ohio State University Extension, Jefferson County, asks that a call be made first to arrange a delivery time for the leaves.
The reward for doing the deed is to receive a "Rake a Difference" T-shirt and a great feeling for helping out and doing something green for the planet, according to Janine Yeske, 4-H educator.
