TORONTO - Organizers are getting ready for the annual citywide garage and yard sale set for Oct. 5-7.

The sale will include households selling items, with the households located on a map that will be available to those attending, according to Wendy Coghe, organizer.

"I'm currently gathering a list of participants for this year's sale," said Coghe, adding those interested in participating should call her at (740) 457-8009 with address information by Wednesday. "(For those leaving) a message, please leave a name and phone number, and I will contact (them) at my earliest convenience. Businesses and organizations are more than welcome to participate."

Coghe said she will post fliers that include a map and list of the participating yard and garage sales. Those attending the event will be able to find fliers and maps at local businesses, including Riesbeck's grocery store, Special Way convenience store, the City Municipal Building and some participating yard and garage sales, said Coghe.

Yard sales can be held one or both days, and those hosting sales are invited to post their own posters as well, continued Coghe, adding bake sales also are welcome.

"The event will go on rain or shine," said Coghe. "I'm looking forward to seeing the city of Toronto come together as a community. With everyone's help and participation we can hopefully make this happen for many years to come."

The cost to participate is free, but donations to offset costs are welcome, said Coghe. Donations can be sent to Wendy Coghe, 508 Euclid Ave., Toronto, OH 43964.
