WEIRTON - The Madonna and Edison girls soccer teams played to a 1-1 draw Wednesday at the J.C. Williams Complex.
The host Blue Dons took the early lead when Alayna Macaluso found the back of the net from a Mia Antinone cross at the 20th minute.
The Wildcats tied the score eight minutes into the second half with Meghan Brooks put one in on a through ball played past the Madonna defense.

Big Red defeats
WEIRTON - The Steubenville Big Red volleyball team won its second in a row Wednesday, this one over host Weir High 26-24, 25-20, 22-25, 25-22.
Abby Taylor paced the victory with four points, 12 kills, nine digs, 22 assists and two blocks. Taylor Young five points, eight kills, three digs, 16 assists and two blocks; Annie Nehrbas eight points, 18 kills and two blocks; Mytia Barker 17 points, four kills and six digs; Brittany Bodo five points, three kills, 14 digs; and libero Carmie Biasi 11 points and 19 digs.
Big Red takes on Buckeye Trail Saturday in tournament action at Buckeye Trail.
Kimberlyn Persina led the Red Riders with 19 kills, 13 blocks and nine digs. Libero Erin Hawthorne contributed 26 digs and three aces.
Samantha McCartney finished with 27 sets and two digs; Haley McLaughlin 31 sets, eight digs and four aces; Selena Wolverton six kills, 13 digs and three aces; Elizabeth Kush six kills and two digs; Morgan Goff 12 digs; Michayla Dobosz six kills and three digs; and Lauren Rosnick five kills and eight digs.
Brooke, Linsly tie
WELLSBURG - The Brooke and Linsly girls soccer teams played to a 0-0 draw Wednesday on the Bruins' pitch.
"We had a lot of opportunities, especially in the second half, and we couldn't capitalize," said Brooke coach Lee Weppler.
Marena Cline finished with three saves for the Bruins, while Morgan Brunner totaled nine saves for the Cadets.
Huskies win in three
TORONTO - The Harrison Central volleyball team defeated host Toronto 25-11, 25-21, 25-17 Wednesday at Karaffa Middle School.
Janeses Eckley paced the winners with 10 kills and four digs. Katie Stackhouse added 10 points, 18 assists and five digs; Kaylee Toland five kills; and Jesse Ledger 11 digs and 11 points.
Cari Horne had five kills, two assists and two digs for the Red Knights. Miranda Robinson added seven assists and two kills and Lisa Scalley three kills.
"You can't play in peaks and valleys," said Toronto coach Chelsey Fletcher. "How do you rally back from 10-12 point deficits in two different sets and play in a mental valley then wonder why you lose."
Redskins sweep Red Devils
WINTERSVILLE - The Indian Creek volleyball team swept visiting St. Clairsville 25-19, 25-14, 25-20 Wednesday.
Brey Mays led the Redskins (8-2) with 17 digs, five kills, three blocks and two assists. Ali Collaros added six digs, Whitney Martin eight kills; 11 digs and four blocks; and Mallorie Sullivan four digs.
Alexis Fithen added four kills and two digs; Bre Berryman 11 aces and three blocks; Kiarra Kamarec three digs, three blocks and three kills; and Jessica Furda 26 assists, 18 digs and five aces.
For the Red Devils, Brigee Mick finished with seven kills, seven assists, eight points and six digs; Gabbie Espen nine assists and three points; and Alexis St. Clair four kills and two digs.
Red Devils top Redskins
MINGO JUNCTION - The St. Clairsville boys soccer team took a 4-2 decision over Indian Creek Wednesday at Muth Field.
Ian Gambill scored both goals for the Redskins, with one on an assist by Russell Ratcliffe. Matthew Barker finished with 15 saves.
Zach Oliver, Crock Ferrell and Taylor Withman each had a goal and assist for the Red Devils. Jarrett Helms added a goal and keeper Izaac Wiley stopped 11 shots.
Blue Devils win again
HOOKSTOWN, Pa. - The Burgettstown golf team raised its record to 9-0 in section play with a 203-238 win over Chartiers-Houston Wednesday at Ponderosa Golf Course.
Owen Miller captured medalist honors with an even-par 36 as the teams played the back nine. Cody Dobbin 41 and Luc Bongiorni each carded 41s, while Hunter Lecker shot 42 and Paul Lecker 43.
The Blue Devils are 12-1 overall.
Redskins top Panthers
UNIONPORT - Indian Creek's Ian McIntosh earned medalist honors with a 41 at Red Oaks Golf Course as the Redskins defeated Buckeye Local, 179-192.
Cole Yeater shot 43, Cody Hopkins 46 and Aaron Foldi 49 for Indian Creek.
Kyle Sutphin led the Panthers with a 44. Clint Henry shot 46, Ricky Semprowski 47 and Bo Walker 55.
The sectional tournament will be held Monday at River Green Golf Course.
Crusaders net a win
BRIDGEPORT - The Steubenville Catholic Central volleyball team swept host Bridgeport Wednesday 25-16, 25-19, 25-15 to raise its record to 9-3.
For the Crusaders, Rachel Antonelli had four kills, two aces, six points and two assists; Rachel Rigaud four kills, four assists and five blocks; Monica Fischer two kills, five points and three aces; and Monica Rigaud six kills and six blocks.
Maddy Gulan totaled 14 points, six blocks, five kills and five aces; Robyn Runkel 36 sets, eight points and five aces; Jenna Ogden 29 sets and six points; Tori Knight one kill and one assist; Logan Colabella one ace; Taylor Bednar two spikes; and Kamy Belardine 11 digs and three points.
