The Herald-Star

Cash

The Cash family reunion was held Aug. 5 at Lake Austin and attended by 57.

The youngest was 10-month-old Star Lynn Hoover, and the oldest was Irene Goodwin, 88, who had 10 great-great-grandchildren on hand.

Danny Slater of Tampa, Fla., traveled the farthest.

Activities included bingo, euchre, a picnic, cornhole and swimming. Sandy McLeish won the 50-50 drawing. Jerry Goodwin ended the day showing home movies of past years, including pictures from more than 100 years ago.

Cline

The annual Cline Family Reunion was held at Hopedale Village Park on July 22 with 52 family members in attendance.

The oldest person attending was Russell Campbell, grandson of Bill and Clara Cline Dornbusch, while the youngest in attendance was Jaden Whittaker, great-great-great-grandson of James and Clara Harris Cline.

The Clines continued with many annual traditions, such as having the potluck dinner, sharing photos from years past and unrolling the 60-foot, 800-name chart of Cline descendants. There also were two display tables, one in memory of family members who had passed away since last year's reunion, the other in tribute to all the Clines who have served in the military.

A new tradition was launched of having Cline reunion T-shirts with each branch of the family having its own color to identify it.

Officers for 2013 carried over from 2012 and include: Joe Marker, president; Kathy Smith, secretary/historian, with Pam Dunn assisting; and Andrea Marker, treasurer.

Harris

The descendants of Evans and Henrietta Guy Harris met Sept. 1 in Wintersville to commemorate 106 years of family together. There were more than 50 in attendance.

Elected officers were Annette Dameron, president; Craig Dixon, vice president; Bernice Brooks, secretary; Ernestine Mixon, treasurer; and Richard Harris Sr., sergeant at arms.

Gifts were awarded to Robert Harris of Wintersville, the oldest Harris in attendance; Joyce Stanton, the youngest; and Carla Dameron of San Antonio, Texas, traveling the farthest with granddaughters Brooke and Najia Martin of Dayton.

A special presentation of lilac roses was made to coordinator Bernice Wilson by Liz Velez.

The Harrison reunion is comprised of the 16 children of Evans and Henrietta Guy Harris who settled in the Smithfield area in the mid-1800s. It is marked annually during the pre-Labor Day weekend.

Mader

The descendants of Anthony and Theresa Berher Mader held their 29th reunion on Sept. 9 at the East Springfield Church of the Cross shelterhouse.

Of the 34 attending, Olivia Grace Ferguson was the youngest, while Thelma L. Mader Cathers was the oldest. Mickey and Nadara Mader of Monroe Falls, Ohio, traveled the farthest.

There were two marriages reported and four births.

First Lts. Matthew and Amy Mader Baab of Bolivar, Ohio, home from their tour of duty with the National Guard after having served a year in Afghanistan, were among those in attendance.

Next year's reunion will be held at the Annapolis home of Eric and Dana Mader Ferguson on the first Sunday after Labor Day.
