Sycamore Tree

to host concert

Sycamore Tree Church, 301 N. Fourth St., Steubenville, will be hosting a concert at 6:30 p.m. Thursday featuring Dove Award-winning artist Mitch McVicker.

Steubenville is one stop on McVicker's "Walking through the Dark" tour. "Walking through the Dark" is his most recent CD offering. It is a five-song mini-CD, the result of observations made during his 15-year, eight-CD and 1,200-concert career.

McVicker's journey began by doing concerts, writing songs and being roommates with the late Rich Mullins. The two of them won a Dove Award for the song, "My Deliverer."

McVicker was in the car with Mullins when a crash claimed Mullins' life. McVicker sustained broken bones, collapsed lungs, a coma-induced head injury and a long recovery.

Doors open at 6 p.m. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted to present to McVicker for travel expenses.
