DUSKA, Francis C., 92, Mingo Junction, Ohio, passed away Thursday, September 6, 2012, in TMC West, Steubenville, Ohio.
He was born August 12, 1920, at home, in Mingo, a son of the late Andrew and Mary (Denci) Duska.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Andrew Duska; and three sisters, Anna Moro, Mary Federman and Elizabeth Saxon.
Francis was an overhead-crain operator for Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, retiring in 1982 after 40 years service. He was proud of his church activities, including Alter Boy at St. Agnes Church, Elder in the Former Slovak Presbyterian Church and his involvement in the music programs at the present First United Presbyterian Church, all in Mingo.
From his youth, he followed in his fathers' footsteps, playing stringed instruments in various Slovak-Hungarian Bands, eventually having his own band "Duke's Czardas Kings" with his son and nephews
He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, mushroom picking, and do-it yourself activities.
Surviving are his wife of 70 years, Elizabeth "Betty" Sabo Hreha Duska, whom he married on June 1, 1942; a son, Kenneth Duska, Mingo, a daughter, Vickie Deep, Columbus, OH; and two granddaughters, Rebecca (Andy) Deep-Lathrop, Florida, and Rachel Deep, Columbus, OH.
Private funeral services were held Saturday at the Wheeler Funeral Home, with Pastor Kenn Sickle, officiating.
Interment follow in Oakland Cemetery, Mingo.
