Crusaders defeat Red Knights
TORONTO - The Steubenville Catholic Central golf team defeated Toronto 168-215 Friday at Dyer Country Club.
The Crusaders were led by Austin Meronoff with a 34. Josh Merriman shot a 44 with Nick Ivkovich and Jason Bensur each adding a 45.
The Red Knights' John Mike Romey topped his team with a 36. Brad Melville added a 56 with Ben Hlizko and Nick Ighnat scoring 58 and 65 respectively.
Panthers golf splits a pair
RAYLAND - The Buckeye Local golf team split a pair of matches at Bec-Wood Hills Golf Course on Wednesday and Thursday.
On Thursday Buckeye Local was beaten by Edison 180-185.
The Wildcats' Jimmy Marsh was medalist with a 41. Prestin Collins (44), Adam Ryan (46), and Dylan Jones (49) completed the scoring for Edison.
Ricky Sempkowski led the Panthers with a 42. Kyle Sutphin (45), Clint Henry (47), and Matt Miller (51) finished up the scoring for the Panthers.
In Wednesday's match with Indian Creek the Panthers 182 topped the Redskins 197.
Sempkowski shot 42 for Buckeye to lead all scorers. Henry shot 43, Sutphin 46, and Miller 51 to round out the scoring.
Creek was led by Cole Yeater's 45 with Aaron Foldi shooting 50. Justin Dailey and Adam Freshwater each shot 51.
Brooke tops Big Red
RICHMOND - The Brooke golf team acme away with a victory Thursday against Big Red at Blackmoor Golf Course.
Brooke's team score of 352 was led by Austin Schambach's 81. Right behind him was Logan Lojczszyk with an 82 with Brice Hickey and Cody Dodd scoring 91 and 98 respectively.
Big Red was led by Kasey Peterson's 95. Jacob McKitrick shot a 98, mason Heatherington a 108, and Andrew O'Dell a 11 to round out the Steubenville scoring.
Central wins tri-match
STEUBENVILLE - The Steubenville Catholic Central golf team shot a 15t to defeat Weir (197) and Oak Glen (198) Wednesday at Steubenville Country Club.
Austin Meronoff was medalist with a 36 while Mike Manfresca added a 37 in support. Nick Ivkovich (40) and Jason Bensur (41) finished off the Crusaders top four.
The Red Riders were led by Zach Midcap with a 44 with Vince Gaudio adding a 45, Austin Paul-Orecchio a 51, and Alex Creel a 57.
Matt McLaughlin's 48 led the Golden Bears with Taylor Kincaid (49), Hayley Spurlock (53), and Jacob Stipec (57) rounding out their scoring.
